Web Analytics Part Three: Are You Looking At Me?

Do you wonder where to focus your efforts?  Do you ever wonder what your most effective web pages are?  If you don't, you should.

By finding the more frequently visited pages of your website through different web analytics programs, you can start to build a case for elevating those pages to a better consumer experience.  What I mean to say is, if you can identify which pages people come to most often, you at the same time will identify which pages are most important for people surfing your site.  And, as a logical conclusion, you should then spend more effort on those pages to speak to your visitor/customer.

But won't most people visit your home page most?  If you have built a good home page, most likely they will.  However, with the sophistication of search engines (thank you Google), people will more likely than not find you in all manner of ways.  They will come at you from every page you have up.  And because of that, you need to make sure that your entire site will pull people in the right way.  Don't let pages drift.  Make sure your content is up to standard everywhere, applied equally.

Except for those pages you know are generating a lot of traffic...

With those pages, as we said, make certain you have high takeaway value and truly capture the essence of who and what your business does.
